Young and Heartless

In 2011, Pennsylvania quartet Young and Heartless assembled when singer/guitarist Jeremy Henninger joined forces with guitarist Bryan Tricarico, bassist Britain Weyant, and drummer Jake Lepley. Emerging from Harrisburg’s hardcore and pop-punk milieu, the group fuses moody introspection with taut indie rock textures that recall Brand New and Balance & Composure. Two EPs issued in 2012 and 2013 set the stage for the band’s first full-length effort, The Pull of Gravity, which appeared in 2014. Strong critical notice surrounding the album prompted veteran pop-punk label Hopeless Records to sign Young and Heartless, resulting in a 2015 reissue of the debut. Their sophomore album, Stay Away—the first new material released through Hopeless—reached listeners in March 2016.
