Biography
Originating in the St. Albans suburbs outside London, the five-piece outfit channels the hard-edged, metal-infused hardcore style of Sick of It All, Agnostic Front, and Hatebreed. The group formed in 2003, at first functioning solely as a Suicidal Tendencies cover act before swiftly shifting focus to original songs. Following their 2005 debut EP Your Days are Numbered, they tracked their first album, You Only Make Us Stronger, the subsequent year. Steady road work alongside Biohazard, Bury Your Dead, and Enter Shikari helped grow their audience, leading to a second independent EP, 2008’s Blood Stays on the Blade. Vocalist George Noble, guitarists Stuart Paice and Oz, bassist Jimmy Sampson, and drummer James Tailby then signed with Visible Noise, which issued their sophomore full-length Ignorance Never Dies in March 2009. The record earned broad praise and was later picked up for U.S. release by Earache. The band immediately embarked on a three-week European and British run with Deez Nuts, More Than Life, and Lower Than Atlantis. That July, however, Noble departed for personal reasons. Former Centurion singer Ed McRae stepped in, and the refreshed lineup launched its first shows that autumn supporting the Canadian band Misery Signals.
