Biography
In 2016 the Nashville-based production duo BIYO made their initial appearance through an online single titled "Bliss," which showcased a deconstructed R&B aesthetic. Operating solely under their given names, Sam and Grayson delivered a measured, occasionally psychedelic interpretation of mainstream R&B by layering distorted synthesizers and falsetto vocals across lean yet prominently foregrounded percussion. The pair continued issuing additional original singles throughout 2016 while also supplying remixes for acts such as Kaptan and Miike Snow. After signing with the South by Sea Music label, BIYO turned their attention to preparing a full-length project.
