Australian singer/songwriter Blake Rose first presented his soulful pop through the 2018 single “Hotel Room.” Its blend of guitar, airy electronics, and heavy beats accumulated over a million streams in just months. Additional tracks such as the gentler “Gone” and “Lost” each drew millions more plays, leading to his debut full-length A World Gone By at the end of 2021. Fresh original singles arrived throughout 2022, among them the propulsive “Magazine.”

Rose’s musical path began at age five with the didgeridoo. By ten he had switched to guitar and soon explored music-production fundamentals. Regular busking during his teenage years allowed him to fund a relocation to Los Angeles. There he co-wrote his first single, “Hotel Room,” alongside fellow Australian singer/songwriter Joel Adams, his roommate at the time, and songwriter/producer Justin Gammella. Following its November 2018 release, coverage on music blogs and prominent playlists quickly pushed the track into the hundreds of thousands of streams. Early 2019 brought “Lost,” which reached tens of millions of plays; comparable totals followed with the 2020 releases “Gone” and the acoustic-guitar ballad “Ordinary People.” The latter track later appeared on A World Gone By when the album arrived in October 2021. Further singles, including “Confidence” and “Magazine,” surfaced in 2022.
