Brian Doerksen

Hailing from Canada's western shores, Brian Doerksen pursued a path as a Christian singer and songwriter after embracing faith during his high-school years. A band quickly followed, locking in both his vocation and professional direction. He later spent time in Britain and Ireland, where he guided others in musical ministry before issuing several projects there. Doerksen resettled permanently in Canada during the opening years of the new millennium. Most of his recordings appeared on the Integrity label, among them the 2004 album Today, which climbed close to the top of the Canadian Christian charts. Recognition arrived through multiple honors, among them Worship Album of the Year and Male Soloist of the Year at the Canadian People's Choice Gospel Music Awards. His 2008 nomination for the Juno Award placed him in contention for the nation's premier music prize.
