Biography
Originating in Sydney, Australia, the metalcore outfit Buried in Verona fuses influences spanning the contemporary metal spectrum into a dense, emotionally charged style. Their approach incorporates deathcore's tremolo-heavy riffs and graphic themes, post-hardcore's melodic vocal hooks, electronicore's layered production touches, and traditional metalcore's aggressive riffing, resulting in a cohesive weight that belies the range of sources. Despite numerous membership shifts since the group's formation in 2007, Buried in Verona have maintained their role as purveyors of intensity, delivering raw power across performances and recordings alike. The band's first release, Circle the Dead, appeared in 2008, with Saturday Night Sever arriving two years later. Their third full-length, Notorious, came out via Artery Records in 2012 and peaked at number 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Recorded in Michigan alongside producer Joey Sturgis (the Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, blessthefall), the follow-up Faceless surfaced in 2014 and entered the ARIA chart at number 15 while earning a longlist placement for the tenth Australian Music Prize (AMP).
