Born Victoria Sharpe in Chicago, dance diva Celeda sang as a featured voice in her church choir beginning at age seven and later joined tours alongside the renowned Cosmopolitan Choir. House producer Robert Coddington discovered her, gave her the name Celeda, and placed her at the front of Heavy Hitters, where the group landed several club hits such as “Messin’ with My Mind,” “Get It Together,” and “I Feel It.” Mid-1999 saw the arrival of her first solo album, This Is It. The next year brought an EP containing remixes of the single “The Underground.”
