Hailing from Australia, Chase Atlantic crafts alluring pop that fuses emo-electronic textures with SoundCloud rap and present-day R&B. The trio first surfaced via their breakout 2014 single "Friends," then delivered their full-length debut, the self-titled Chase Atlantic, in 2017. Their second album, Phases, arrived the following year and broadened their reach, appearing on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart while securing a berth on the Warped Tour. Further refinement of their immersive style can be heard on 2021’s Beauty in Death and 2024’s Lost in Heaven.

The Cave brothers, Mitchel and Clinton, were raised in Cairns, Australia, where they immersed themselves in jazz and classical studies. During his teenage years Mitchel joined the boy band What About Tonight and there encountered singer/guitarist Christian Anthony. The ensemble briefly entered the spotlight on The X Factor Australia before disbanding. In the ensuing years the Cave siblings continued issuing tracks through their YouTube channel, eventually reuniting with Anthony to establish Chase Atlantic in 2011. The group reshaped its approach by merging contemporary hip-hop and trap production with catchy pop and emo-rock influences. Their Dalliance EP surfaced in 2014, followed by 2015’s Nostalgia, which contained the viral track "Friends."

Those initial successes drew the notice of Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden, who placed the band on their MDDN development roster. Chase Atlantic subsequently signed with Warner Bros. and released three EPs that paved the way for the 2017 self-titled debut. Extensive touring ensued across the United States and Australia, complemented by a 2018 Warped Tour run and festival slots at Bonnaroo and Reading/Leeds. Phases, their sophomore set, appeared in 2019 and featured the singles "Her" and "Love Is (Not) Easy." It reached number 24 on the Independent Albums chart and entered the Top Ten of the Heatseekers listing.

Much of 2018 and 2019 was spent on the road before the members returned to Los Angeles for new material. When their usual studio, the Madden Brothers-owned MDDN, closed temporarily amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they recorded primarily at home. Beauty in Death, their third studio album and a Billboard-charting release, emerged in March 2021. The subsequent singles "OHMAMI" and "ESCORT" were added to a deluxe edition issued in 2022.

The luminous, tropical-tinged "Mamacita" appeared in 2023, signaling the arrival of their fourth album, Lost in Heaven. Issued in November 2024, the record also contained "Doubt It," "You," and "Ricochet," tracks that propelled it to number two in Australia.
