Biography
Emerging from Brooklyn in 1993 as Smif-N-Wessun, the hardcore rap duo Da Cocoa Brovaz consisted of Tek and Steele. Their debut album Dah Shinin' arrived two years afterward, but a conflict with Smith & Wesson firearms sparked a three-year lawsuit that concluded by renaming the act Cocoa Brovaz, who then released The Rude Awakening in 1998 under the new identity.
