Biography
Born in Stockton, California, into a household steeped in both faith and music, contemporary gospel singer Danetra Moore joined choirs and began cutting professional recordings before she turned eleven. After spending years as a background vocalist for Kirk Franklin, Vicki Winans, Brian Wilson, Trace Adkins, Ne-Yo, Ledisi, and others, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2012 she stepped forward with the working-class single “All I Can Do Is Pray,” just ahead of her summer appearance on Season Five of BET’s gospel competition Sunday Best. Finishing third earned her a contract with Tyscot the following year, and her first album, Light in the Dark, was slated for release in fall 2015.
