Erin Kinsey works in an upbeat and lively strain of country that fuses the first successes of Taylor Swift with the sharp, present-day country-pop approach of Maddie & Tae. Her earliest notice arrived in the early 2020s through the bright and heartfelt single "Just Drive."

Born in Rockwell, Texas, Kinsey was given a guitar one Christmas at age eleven. She devoted her teenage years to mastering the instrument and to songwriting, then relocated to Nashville immediately after graduating high school in 2018. Initial recognition came through her work behind the scenes, notably co-writing "Pink," the contribution Dolly Parton made to a Susan G. Komen breast cancer benefit album, while she simultaneously built a performing following.

After the independent 2021 release of the singles "Drunk Too" and "Just Drive," both of which found listeners online, she entered a joint contract with RECORDS and Sony Music. RECORDS issued her debut EP 40 East in 2022, and two more singles—"Reason for Living" and the seasonal "O Holy Night"—appeared before the year ended. The mini-LP Bet My Heart followed in May 2023, with the EP Same Day Sessions arriving that October.
