Dutch DJ and producer Gregor Salto fuses high-energy house with jungle, Latin, and tribal elements. Born Gregor van Offeren in Haarlem, he studied piano during childhood before developing a passion for house music and composing his debut track at fourteen. While still a teenager behind the decks, he refined his technique and put out early material on Outland Records upon turning eighteen. Additional releases appeared under the alias Scuba as well as through the partnerships Luna Mora and Danny & Graxx, the latter alongside Danny van den Berg. Salto launched his own imprint, G-Rex Music, in 2001. His initial chart entry arrived with the 2005 single “Can’t Stop Playing” featuring Dr. Kucho!, which registered strongly in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Subsequent releases included the 2009 track “Lambada 3000” with Kaoma and 2014’s “Samba do Mundo” alongside Saxsymbol and Todoro, each reaching the Dutch Top 20. The full-length Ultimate Miami 2 marked his first album in 2014. Beyond original work, Salto supplied remixes for Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” Pitbull’s Grammy-nominated “Echa Pa'lla,” and Major Lazer’s “Powerful,” while maintaining regular ties to Chappell and Chuckie. The opening installment of his Tropical Tips series surfaced in 2011, eventually totaling five volumes through 2016. He also serves as host of the monthly Salto Sounds podcast.
