I Am Giant

I Am Giant, a melodic alternative rock band, formed in New Zealand in 2008. The group emerged after the more metal-focused Blindspott paused operations briefly in 2007, with former Blindspott drummer Shelton Woolright joining bassist Paul Matthews, guitarist Max O'Donnell, and British vocalist Ed Martin to pursue an alternative rock direction instead. Following years of preparation, the quartet issued their debut album, The Horrifying Truth, in 2011. That release earned gold certification and appeared on charts internationally. EPs framed the album on either side, among them City Limits/Neon Sunrise in 2010 and the self-titled EP in 2012. The band later shifted its operations to London. Max O'Donnell's exit in 2010 prompted a succession of substitute guitarists, such as Aja Timu, Andrew Kerr, and Michael Triponel. In 2013, sessions for the follow-up album began with producer Forrester Savell, returning to the mixing console after his prior work on The Horrifying Truth.
