Norwegian singer-songwriter Ina Wroldsen initially pursued a path as a solo performer, yet her strongest recognition has come from crafting material for other major acts. An early breakthrough arrived via her contributions to the 2008 debut album Chasing Lights by the British/Irish pop group the Saturdays. In the years that followed she assembled an expansive catalog of songs recorded by the Pussycat Dolls, Pixie Lott, Leona Lewis, and Britney Spears.

By 2013 she chose to resume performing. Joining forces with Icelandic singer-songwriter Arnthor Birgisson, she created the electro-pop duo Ask Embla, which issued its first album, Northern Light, that year. The record ranked among the most downloaded and streamed releases in her native Norway.

Her return to recording did not slow her songwriting momentum; she continued to enlarge her circle of collaborators with tracks for Shakira, Jess Glynne, Demi Lovato, and Olly Murs. In 2015 DJ Calvin Harris released the single "How Deep Is Your Love," which featured Wroldsen on vocals and became one of the year's most streamed and downloaded songs.

Alongside her own music and writing, she served as a judge on the Norwegian edition of Idol. Into 2017 she supplied further material, including Tinie Tempah's "Text from Your Ex" and the Brit Award-winning Rag 'n' Bone Man's "Ego" from his debut album Human. Prompted by a documentary on Latin American women, she joined Brazilian DJ Alok for the 2018 collaborative single "Favela."
