Puerto Rican duo J-King y Maximan specialize in energetic reggaeton that echoes the style of fellow acts such as Wisin & Yandel and Alexis & Fido. The pair first surfaced as Los Rastrilleros before J-King, born Jaime Borges Bonilla in Ponce and later raised in Massachusetts and Germany, joined forces with Maximan, born Héctor L. Padilla in Ponce, as members of Casa de Leones in 2006. After issuing one album as a unit, the artists pursued separate ventures. In 2008 J-King y Maximan put out their initial mixtape, the self-titled Los Rastrilleros, and followed it two years later with their first proper album, Los Superheroes. That project included the tracks “Cuando, Cuando Es?” and “Sr. Juez” along with “Volvieron los 5,” which brought the former Casa de Leones lineup back together. Their second studio release, Los Sucesores, appeared in 2013, and the duo resurfaced in 2015 with Volvieron Los Rastrilleros (Preloaded). They collaborated with Tony Lenta on the 2017 single “Contacto.”
