Argentinean blues outfit La Mississippi first assembled in the late '80s under the name Mississippi Blues Band. Its debut arrived in 1993 with the album Mbugi, after which the band continued the sequence via 1995's Bagayo and 1996's Classic. During the 1997 sessions for Cara y Ceca the ensemble edged nearer to contemporary blues. In 1999 the six-piece group gained a high-profile slot opening for Credence Clearwater Revisited at Buenos Aires' Obras Sanitarias. Palacio de Pulgas appeared sometime afterward.
