Biography
Originating from Florida’s Broward County, Lajan Slim is a rapper of Haitian-American heritage. He first took up the mic while still a teenager, drawing inspiration from Cash Money releases—most notably those by Lil Wayne—and made his initial studio appearance in the late 2000s. After a stretch of refinement that yielded occasional tracks credited to Dhat Boi Slim, he released his first official single under the Lajan Slim name, the independently issued “Haitians.” In August 2016 the respected Def Jam imprint expanded the reach of that raw recording, a jubilant anthem built on horror-film-styled piano and weighty bass, with additional support from Pusha T.
