Biography
In 1998 the San Francisco-based Latin rock outfit Los Mocosos issued their first album, Mocos Locos, on Aztlán Records. The title referenced the character El Moco from the film El Mariachi. Fusing Latin ska, Afro-Cuban beats, urban hip-hop, and jazz-funk, the group quickly embedded itself in the Bay Area music community and secured slots on the 1999 Watcha Tour in San Francisco plus an appearance at the Monterey Jazz Festival.
