The electronic music producer Lost Witness, also recognized as DJ Si Paul, specializes in trance tracks aimed at the dance floor. Attention arrived for the project during the closing years of the 1990s through several U.K. singles that registered on the charts, among them “Happiness Happening” and “Red Sun Rising” featuring Tracy Carmen. Further entries appeared on the listings in the following decade via “7 Colours” and “Home” with Tiff Lacey. In tandem with his busy schedule behind the decks, the artist has sustained the signature trance aesthetic through later club releases such as “Sewn” in 2019, “Carry Me Home” in 2020, and “Civil War” in 2022.

Simon Paul, likewise identified as Si Paul, first took up the Lost Witness name for DJ sets across the U.K. during the 1990s. Two Ministry of Sound singles appeared in 1999—“Happiness Happening” and “Red Sun Rising” with Tracy Carmen—landing at positions 18 and 22 on the U.K. singles chart. Additional Top 30 placements came with “7 Colours” and “Did I Dream (Song to the Siren),” while 2005 brought Top 100 entries for “Wait for You” alongside Andrea Britton and “Home” with Tiff Lacey. Throughout the 2010s Paul maintained an active presence both performing and issuing material that included a 2010 version of “Red Sun Rising” featuring vocals by Andrea Britton, the 2011 track “Fade Away,” and 2013’s “Fly” with Sugababes singer Jade Ewen. Following worldwide DJ engagements, he resurfaced under the Lost Witness moniker with 2019’s “Sewn” and continued issuing singles on Amsterdam Trance such as “Golden” with Pierre Pienaar and Tracy Carmen, “Crashing into Love,” and “This Dream” featuring Kate Louise Smith. Another release, “Carry Me Home” with Laura-Ly, revived the earlier trance style and drew substantial club support. Subsequent output has included 2022’s “Civil War” with Michael G. Moore, “Lateott,” and “It’s OK” with Phoebe.
