Born in Abruzzi on June 18, 1978, Luca Dirisio emerged as an Italian pop singer who developed guitar technique and core songwriting skills on his own during adolescence. Only at age 14 did he begin formal instruction in song and composition. He finished his earliest composition at 16, and by 18 he felt ready to relocate to Rome, where he intended to pursue both higher education and a music career. While maintaining strong grades to satisfy his parents, he started playing live across the territory stretching from Rome to Milan, which helped him earn notice as a rising songwriter.

The 2003 Summer Live Festival, an MTV production, supplied a decisive opening. An audition there with producer Giuliano Boursier resulted in a recording contract with Sony/BMG. His debut single, “Calma e Sangue Freddo,” reached radio in May 2004 and sold more than 20,000 copies within a month of release. Further successful singles built anticipation for the October arrival of the album Luca Dirisio, which moved 100,000 units. A national tour undertaken in 2005 increased his already rapid ascent. Release of the Spanish-language version “Calm y Sangre Fria” together with the follow-up album La Vita è Strana confirmed his status as a prominent European pop figure. Since first appearing on the national charts in 2004, Dirisio has sustained a regular presence there.
