Anna Tatangelo

At the age of just 15, Italian pop sensation Anna Tatangelo captured top honors in the "New Arrivals" category at the 2002 Sanremo Festival with "Doppiamente Fragili." Her youth prompted postponement of her debut album, leading the emerging vocalist to concentrate on live performance instead; she returned to the festival the next year with reduced success, then triumphed again in 2006 when "Essere una Donna" prevailed in the "Women" division. Tatangelo had already issued her first full-length project, Ragazza di Periferia, the previous year; after the latest Sanremo victory it was reissued in 2006 with two added tracks, one of which was "Essere una Donna," before Mai Dire Mai reached stores in 2007.
