Natalie Ann Cohen, a Manhattan-born vocalist and songwriter steeped in operatic training, channels her vision through the melodic alternative metal project known as Madame Mayhem. While attending the University of Miami as a double major in musical theater and opera after earlier studies at the Manhattan School of Music, she issued her debut single, "Addicted to You," and secured a deal with Headball Records. The first full-length under the Madame Mayhem name, White Noise, appeared in 2012.

Mark Hudson of the Hudson Brothers produced that album, drawing on prior work with Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, Ringo Starr, and Hanson. Live performances supporting the release included an extended residency at New York City’s Cutting Room. The follow-up, Now You Know, reached stores in 2015 after co-production by bassist Billy Sheehan—known for Mr. Big, the Winery Dogs, and David Lee Roth—and guitarist Simone Sello, who also handled mixing duties. Cohen and her band spent 2016 on the road alongside Doro and Mushroomhead.

Ready for Me, the third studio album, arrived in 2017 through Headball and Metalville. Its songs were developed in collaboration with producer Corey Lowery of Saint Asonia, Sevendust’s Clint Lowery, and Evanescence’s Troy McLawhorn. Several weeks of U.S. dates with Sevendust took place the next year. Issued in January 2019, the single “Broken” was co-written with Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen and featured bass from Billy Sheehan plus drums by Korn’s Ray Luzier.
