Biography
Los Angeles musician Paris Shadows fuses rock textures with hip-hop beats to shape an emo-rap sound that echoes a rougher-edged Post Malone. The performer, born Paris Vasquez and christened after the Cure’s 1993 concert recording, plays cello and previously worked as a firefighter while drawing from blink-182, Linkin Park, and Black Sabbath. In 2018 he entered hip-hop with the singles “Bones” and “Po’ed Up,” the latter featuring Gunna, recounting hedonistic episodes centered on sex and drugs. Rising streams soon earned him an opening slot alongside Post Malone and 21 Savage. Later that year his first full-length project, ONE NIGHT IN PARIS on 300 Entertainment, appeared with guest spots from Trippie Redd on “Gone” and drummer Travis Barker on “Crushin.”
