Biography
Born María del Pilar Montenegro López, Mexican Latin pop singer and actress Pilar Montenegro first entered the entertainment world by joining the popular tropical and dance-pop ensemble Garibaldi, which Luis de Llano produced. Building on the visibility that membership brought, she soon began appearing in Mexican soap operas such as Gotita De Amor, Marisol, and Volver A Empezar. Her emergence as a solo performer came in 1996 with the album Son del Corazón.
