Rudy Mancuso, active as a singer, vlogger, actor, and online personality, first attracted widespread attention in the mid-2010s through his hugely popular comedy clips posted on Vine. His offbeat character sketches, which routinely lampooned cultural stereotypes, allowed him to convert that platform’s momentum into a substantial YouTube presence beginning in 2016, where he also debuted original songs including the Maia Mitchell duet “Magic” and the solo cut “Mama.”

Raised in New Jersey by an Italian-American father and Brazilian mother, Mancuso frequently drew on spoofs of assorted heritages, his own included, for much of his material. Drawn to music from childhood, he was introduced to Vine by a friend and started uploading sketches in early 2013. By the service’s 2016 shutdown he stood among its foremost creators, having amassed more than ten million followers and having already appeared on Comedy Central’s Drunk History in 2015.

He shifted operations to YouTube, joining Los Angeles-based Shots Studios to craft longer, higher-budget videos that steadily enlarged his audience. Although singing often surfaced inside those videos, Mancuso made his formal move into recorded music in 2017 with the Poo Bear collaboration “Black & White.” Justin Bieber chose him that same year to open the Brazilian dates of his Latin America tour. His next release, the actress Maia Mitchell duet “Magic,” arrived in early 2018, followed later in the year by the solo singles “Mama” and “Lento.”
