Biography
In Little Rock, AR, the emo-pop outfit School Boy Humor formed in 2005 through the efforts of Caleb Spillyards (vocals, keyboards), Phil Evans (vocals, guitar), Anthony Evans (guitar, vocals), Pierce Hunter (bass), and Greg Scherer (drums). Their initial EP, To Make Hearts Reluctant, appeared the next year as a self-released project. A deal with Vagrant Records followed in spring 2008, prompting sessions alongside producer Geoff Rockwell, whose prior credits included Forever the Sickest Kids' Underdog Alma Mater. Despite Pierce Hunter's exit to resume college, the band and Rockwell carried forward with polished, youthful anthems that surfaced on the self-titled debut album in February 2009.
