Biography
Sherwood Marty, an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the same vein as YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Kevin Gates, presents gritty rhymes through a raw yet fluid flow. The 2016 mixtape Stuck in the Trenches: Self Made, Vol. 1 marked his arrival and contained the track "Everything." Greater notice arrived the next year with the underground hit "Sherwood Baby," a tribute to his namesake hometown neighborhood. He then put out "SOS (Smashed on Sight)" and "Suicide," securing a deal with 300 Entertainment before the year closed. The 2018 collaborative mixtape Young & Reckless paired him with Sacramento-via-Mobile rapper OMB Peezy.
