Soluna

Soluna, a quartet whose name fuses the Spanish words for sun and moon, came together in the closing years of the 1990s. Its members—descendants of Chilean, Colombian, Mexican, and Puerto Rican heritage—performed bilingual material in English and Spanish. Christina Lopez, known professionally as “T,” former Kings Five vocalist Aurora Rodríguez, Juilliard School–trained America Olivo, and solo artist Jessica Castellanos had all grown up stateside, drawing inspiration from both domestic and Latin pop acts. The group secured a contract with DreamWorks Records and cut its first album, For All Time, which featured the 2002 hit single “Bring It to Me.” In the same calendar year the quartet also negotiated an agreement with UPN to develop a sitcom centered on their experiences in the entertainment industry.
