Tanner Adell crafts a vibrant, polished mix of country, pop, and hip-hop elements that she has dubbed "glam country." Her introduction to this sound came via the driving 2021 track "Honky Tonk Heartbreak," yet it was the 2022 release "Love You a Little Bit"—which modernized Shania Twain's adult contemporary country-pop style—that gained viral traction and prompted her to expand her artistic scope throughout 2023. This included experimenting with trap rhythms on "Buckle Bunny" and delivering sincere balladry with "Luke Combs," matching the authenticity of its inspiration.

Born in Kentucky and brought up by adoptive parents in Manhattan Beach, California, Adell spent summers at a ranch in Star Valley, Wyoming. Her modeling career began before her first birthday under her parents' encouragement, extending into acting and music interests during her youth. The music of Keith Urban sparked her musical journey, inspiring self-taught guitar skills that soon evolved into early songwriting.

Initially uncertain about a professional music path, Adell, raised in the Mormon faith, completed a two-year mission in Stockholm prior to departing the religion. She kept her musical pursuits personal until her mother encouraged enrollment in commercial music studies at Utah Valley University. There, guidance from her vocal instructor directed her toward Nashville, where she relocated in 2021. Upon arrival in the Music City, she shared original songs on social media platforms, building a substantial following that secured a deal with Columbia Records.

Following the 2021 singles "Honky Tonk Heartbreak" and "Country Girl Commandments," Adell issued the EP Last Call in 2022. The subsequent year saw the viral success of her upbeat country-pop number "Love You a Little Bit," leading to a prolific output including "I Hate Texas," "FU-150," and "Throw It Back" on the EP See You in Church. Shortly after, she dropped "Trailer Park Barbie," a country-rap track sampling Blackpink's "Ddu-Ddu Ddu-Du" and T.I.'s "U Don't Know Me," timed with the release of Greta Gerwig's hit Barbie film.

This track titled her June 2023 EP Trailer Park Barbie, which featured the same tracks as See You in Church. Buckle Bunny followed in July, expanding to eight tracks over 23 minutes with additions like the title song and "Bake It"; a deluxe edition extended it to 11 songs and 34 minutes. October brought Buckle Bunny Stripped, containing six acoustic renditions from the project. "Hot Pink Christmas" arrived for the 2023 holiday period.

Early 2024 brought heightened attention when Beyonce featured Adell on a rendition of the Beatles' "Blackbird" for the album Cowboy Carter.
