Biography
Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Through Fire emerged as a post-grunge hard rock ensemble whose mainstream breakthrough arrived via the rock single “Stronger,” featured on their 2016 debut Breathe. That album climbed to number seven on the Hard Rock Albums chart and opened doors for the follow-up All Animal, released in 2019, while the band’s third studio effort, Devil’s Got You Dreamin’, surfaced in 2023.
The group coalesced in 2015 after guitarist Justin McCain and vocalist Grant Joshua Kendrick concluded a decade-long stint with their prior Omaha outfit Emphatic. Joining forces with additional former Emphatic personnel, they issued the debut single “Stronger” through Sumerian Records, where it quickly ascended the online music rankings. Capitalizing on that momentum, Breathe itself charted at number seven on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums tally and number 15 on the Independent Albums chart.
Returning in 2019 with the sophomore set All Animal, again via Sumerian, the band reached number 11 on the Heatseekers chart and entered the Top 40 of the Independent Albums survey. Following a co-headlining run with Drowning Pool, Through Fire delivered their third full-length, Devil’s Got You Dreamin’, in 2023.
