American-born Korean vocalist Tiffany crafts luminous pop driven by R&B-tinged phrasing that draws from BoA while echoing the bright melodies of Ariana Grande and Carly Rae Jepsen. Her breakthrough arrived through membership in K-pop girl group Girls' Generation, after which she stepped out on her own with the 2016 debut EP I Just Wanna Dance. Departing the K-pop system in 2017, she redirected her efforts toward English-language listeners and delivered the EP Lips on Lips in 2019.

Born Stephanie Young Hwang—the name her late mother had originally chosen for her—in San Francisco, she spent her formative years in Diamond Bar near Los Angeles. During her teenage years she entered a singing contest, where SM Entertainment spotted her talent. She moved to South Korea to begin K-pop training, joined the girl group Girls' Generation, and made her debut with them in summer 2007. Over the following decade the ensemble earned repeated number-one albums and singles, while Tiffany explored parallel projects such as a part in the Korean version of Fame, television hosting duties, and soundtrack contributions. In 2012 she united with bandmates Taeyeon and Seohyun to create the TTS subgroup, which issued its first EP Twinkle that year, followed by Holler in 2014 and Dear Santa in 2015.

By 2016 Tiffany launched her solo career with the EP I Just Wanna Dance, which reached number three on the Billboard World Albums chart. That year she also collaborated on the single “Heartbreak Hotel” with Simon Dominic and appeared on Far East Movement’s Identity album track “Don't Speak.” After reuniting with Girls' Generation for their sixth studio album Holiday Night in July 2017, she ended her association with SM Entertainment and adopted the name Tiffany Young. In 2018 she shared her rendition of “Remember Me” from Pixar’s Coco and issued her first official U.S. single “Over My Skin.” Subsequent releases “Teach You” and “Peppermint” paved the way for the 2019 EP Lips on Lips, whose tracks were produced in part by Fernando Garibay (Kylie, Lady Gaga). The short collection entered the Top Ten of the Heatseekers chart and featured the Babyface-assisted song “Runaway.”
