Biography
Los Angeles-based vocalist, composer, keyboardist, and producer Vicky Nguyen, known professionally as Vicky Farewell, crafts luminous pop and soul steeped in 1970s textures. After accumulating extensive recording experience alongside other performers, she introduced her first full-length project, Sweet Company, in 2022 and issued the follow-up Give a Damn two years later.
Originally from Orange County, California, Farewell began classical-piano lessons in childhood and later completed a formal music degree. Post-graduation she built a thriving schedule of both session work and live performances, collaborating with WILLOW, Channel Tres, Kali Uchis, Anderson .Paak., and Paul McCartney, among additional artists. During this period she started composing original material, which drew the interest of Mac DeMarco and led to her signing with his Mac’s Record Label. The resulting 2022 debut album Sweet Company featured the atmospheric, romantic ballad “Are We OK?,” and she followed it in 2024 with the similarly atmospheric, synthesizer-driven sophomore set Give a Damn.
