Year Of The Goat

Emerging from Sweden, the occult-doom rock outfit Year of the Goat blends psychedelic leanings with an unyielding devotion to the dark arts. Their hallucinatory retro-metal and rock approach, rich in eerie Mellotron passages and dense Hammond organ layers, has prompted likenesses to Pentagram, Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, and Ghost. The Lucifer-worshipping ensemble formed in 2006 in the eastern city of Nörkopping, releasing the debut EP Lucem Ferre in 2011 and the full-length Angel's Necropolis through Van Records in 2013. The next year they signed with Napalm Records, which issued the sophomore album Unspeakable in 2015.
