2 Minutos

Formed in Argentina during the late 1980s, punk rock outfit 2 Minutos took its chief cues from British punk icons as well as homegrown acts los Violadores and Attaque 77. The group supplied the tracks “Ya No Sos Igual” and “Arrebato” to a 1992 compilation issued by the independent label Mentes Abiertas, then signed with Polygram shortly afterward. Valentín Alsina appeared in 1994 and was followed by Volvió la Alegria, Vieja. In its early period the band shared bills with the Ramones and Motorhead during those acts’ South American tours. Singer Mosca, guitarists Luis and Indio, drummer Marcelo, and bassist Papa relocated to the United States in 1995, mounting their first North American tour that same year. Postal 97 surfaced in 1997; two years later the band issued Dos Minutos de Advertencia and Novedades.
