Emerging with a fusion of hip-hop rhythms, seductive R&B ballads, and energetic dance grooves, 3rd Storee came together in 1997 amid the challenging environment of south central Los Angeles, California, USA. The lineup featured Kevonté (b. Kevonté Jackson, 6 February 1983, USA), Lil’ Man (b. Kenneth Pratt, 16 June 1986, USA), D’Smoove (b. Dante Clark, 10 February 1983, USA), and Jay-R (b. Barry Reed Jnr., 17 December 1983, USA). Right away, the group achieved a significant milestone by securing a deal with Edmonds Entertainment, which led to them joining Britney Spears on tour. Building on that momentum, they were selected to support ’N Sync across a nationwide US trek, followed by their inaugural European journey in 1998 prior to any album release. Upon their return to the States, 3rd Storee inked a pact with Universal Records and finalized their first studio effort. At the dawn of the 2000s, original lead singer Lil’ Man departed, making room for J’son and Gavin in the roster. Teaming up with acclaimed producers including Nokio and Rodney Jerkins, the act unveiled their sophomore project Get With Me during 2002.
