Biography
Born Sandro Milton Vieira Angélico in Lisbon on December 31, 1982, the Portuguese contemporary R&B vocalist who performs as Angélico Vieira first gained widespread attention through acting rather than music. His initial screen appearance came in 2004 on the second season of the youth-centered telenovela Morangos com Açúcar, where he portrayed David, one of four members of the fictional group D'ZRT alongside the characters played by Vítor Fonseca, Paulo Vintém, and Edmundo Vieira. That on-screen ensemble translated into a genuine chart-topping act, releasing the albums D'ZRT (2005), Ao Vivo no Coliseus (2005), and Original (2006) while mounting live tours and issuing multiple DVDs. Capitalizing on this exposure, Vieira issued his first solo project, the self-titled Angélico, through Farol Música in 2008; the record climbed to number three on the Portuguese albums chart and featured the promotional singles “Gostasses de Mim” and “Bailarina.”
