Biography
Nashville-based duo Apollo LTD craft exuberant pop steeped in '80s and '90s influences, blending buoyant electronics, airy synths, and hooky guitars. After first collaborating as songwriters for other artists, they issued their self-titled debut EP in 2015. Spiritual themes on their 2019 debut album Out of Body delivered the group's initial Billboard traction, highlighted by the Top 30 Hot Christian single "Gold." Follow-up material from their 2021 sophomore album Nothing Is Ordinary. Everything Is Beautiful. returned them to the Christian Top 40, while preview tracks such as 2023's "Redemption Song" and the next year's "A Day in the Life." paved the way for the third album Hello Human, released in April 2024.
Jordan Phillips, who sings and plays instruments, teamed with producer and instrumentalist Adam Stark to form the project in 2015. The pair had previously performed together in the Kicks and later supplied songs and backing vocals for other acts before turning their focus to original material under the Apollo LTD name. Early notice arrived via the single "What Are You Waiting For," which secured support slots alongside DNCE, Kesha, and Panic! At the Disco, among additional artists.
After signing with Residence Music, the duo expanded their 2018 sophomore EP into the full-length Out of Body. Its uplifting and spiritual tone resonated with Christian listeners, sending "On the Way Up" and "Gold" to numbers 36 and 28 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. Another Top 40 Christian entry, "You," surfaced on Nothing Is Ordinary. Everything Is Beautiful. in early 2021, followed that February by "Patience," which reached number 31 on the same tally. Additional 2022 singles "Soul Worth Saving" and "Run" preceded further advance releases including 2023's "Redemption Song" and 2024's "Dreaming" ahead of Hello Human.
