Biography
Latin pop group Area 305, which takes its name from Miami’s area code, brings together Cuban singer, percussionist, and keyboardist Nelson Cano; Puerto Rican singer, keyboardist, and flutist Ricky Ruiz; singer and guitarist Jonathon Fuzessy, born in Toledo, OH, who made his first appearance at the Viña del Mar festival performing “You Can Change the World”; and Cuban singer and bassist Tony Choy.
Formed in 2001 by composer and producer Rudy Pérez, the outfit issued its first single, “Si Tú No Estas,” which featured contributions from Roberto Livi and appeared via Univision Music Group in partnership with Rudy Pérez Enterprises (RPE).
