Bahja Rodriguez

At the age of twelve, contemporary R&B vocalist Bahja Rodriguez entered the lineup of the OMG Girlz. Co-developed by Xscape's Tameka Cottle, the pop-R&B ensemble put out multiple singles and completed several high-profile tours, only to disband in March 2015 without ever releasing an album. Rodriguez moved directly into independent solo work, placing a handful of singles—including "Jealous Type," "Lipstick," and "Next One"—by the close of 2015. Those recordings occupied the same sleek, understated territory occupied by Jhené Aiko and Tinashe. She also issued the seven-track EP It Gets Better, which included a guest appearance by Jacob Latimore on "Ride or Die."
