Bandgang

BandGang, a Detroit rap collective, came together in 2008 with six emcees: Paid Will, Masoe, Lonnie Bands, AJ, Javar, and Biggs. Operating without label support, the group handled its own output of tracks, videos, and mixtapes, among them White Buff Boyz, Grind Season 2, and The Family during the especially active year of 2014. Further releases followed in 2015, including Young Kings and WDW, that showcased their sharpening focus on raw gangster rap textures. In subsequent seasons nearly every member launched solo efforts, many issuing full-length mixtapes under their own names. The 2016 single “Straight to It” marked a collaboration with Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley. In 2017 the group joined Trauma Tone for the EP The Appetizer, then delivered its own expansive 30-track project In Too Deep the following year.
