Blacklisted

A Philadelphia-rooted hardcore group called Blacklisted put out their opening demo 7" during 2003. Issued as a self-titled effort, the recording quickly secured a short-term agreement with Janey Jasta’s Stillborn imprint, resulting in the EP CD Our Youth Is Wasted appearing before the year closed. Interest from the Deathwish label followed, prompting Blacklisted to issue multiple splits under that imprint along with a combined reissue that paired the Our Youth Is Wasted EP with the earlier demo. Difficulties both personal and internal surfaced in 2006, placing the band’s future in doubt. The lineup of George Hirsch on vocals, Jon Nean on guitars, Dave Foster on guitar, Dave Walling on bass, and Shawn Foley on drums nevertheless held together, enabling the 2007 “comeback” EP Peace on Earth, War on Stage. Subsequent domestic headline shows proved strong, and the group also completed runs through Europe and the U.K. The full-length Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God arrived in 2008, after which Blacklisted joined likeminded hardcore outfit 50 Lions for an Australian tour.
