Biography
Hailing from Florida, Rylan Talerico produces atmospheric and introspective alternative pop infused with shadowy electronic elements under the moniker Brother Sundance. Upon dropping his first single "Blind" in 2017, it garnered significant attention across streaming platforms. In the subsequent three years, he elevated his profile via notable performances and a pair of extended plays, one of which was the intriguing, shadowy I Hurt You, I Made This released in 2020.
In Boca Raton, where he spent his formative years, Talerico acquired skills on various instruments through self-instruction, starting on drums before moving toward composition and guitar playing. He led the blues-punk group Wallace during high school, generating local interest within the independent music community of the region back in 2015. Transitioning to individual projects by 2017, with a focus on studio craftsmanship, he issued "Blind" as the inaugural release under Brother Sundance. This track joined the follow-up "The Hurt" on his initial EP titled Honey. Thanks to the EP's reception and especially the traction gained by "Blind" through inclusion on several notable playlists, Talerico secured slots at major festivals, solidifying his place as an up-and-coming talent.
Featuring L.A. singer Ella Boh, the 2019 track "Monsters" marked another release, yet it was the moody and catchy "Nightmares" from 2020 that emerged as Brother Sundance's subsequent hit. This song appeared on his follow-up EP, I Hurt You, I Made This, later in the year.
