Having absorbed training across jazz, classical, hip-hop, and R&B, Byron Juane channels versatility into his pop output. A North Carolina native and multi-instrumentalist fluent on drums, guitar, trumpet, and keys, he first recorded as K¥NG before abandoning the alias in 2017 to release the EP Life in the Evening. That moody, soul-tinged project marked his debut for Reflection Music Group and featured the single "Ain't Nothing," foreshadowing the direction of subsequent singles such as "Astronaut" and "Of Course." Later albums Going Up (2019), Promise I'm Not Crazy (2020), and A Little Crazy (2022) kept shifting among styles while anchoring themselves in Juane's foundational R&B sound and his recurring lyrical focus on romance and personal growth. The final of those sets spotlighted San Antonio R&B artist Xavier Omär on the streaming hit "Beautiful." In 2023 the sultry tracks "Bands on You" and "Needs & Wants" each drew streams in the hundreds of thousands, while 2024 brought further recognition through collaborations with Lily Massie on "Deep" and Kenyon Dixon on "Timeless," alongside the neo-soul-leaning single "Selfish."
