Biography
Candy Hearts, a New Jersey outfit, craft rock tunes infused with the melodic sensibilities of '90s punk-pop. Formed as a trio revolving around vocalist and songwriter Mariel Loveland, the ensemble originated in 2009 during Loveland's college years in Upstate New York. Their initial offering, the self-produced Ripped Up Jeans & Silly Dreams, emerged the next year. Kind of Like Records put out the follow-up effort, Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy, in 2011. It was around then that New Found Glory's guitarist Chad Gilbert took notice of Loveland, leading to her signing with his Violently Happy Records, which operates as a subsidiary of Bridge Nine, an independent label from Boston. Candy Hearts made their comeback in 2014 via the full-length All the Ways You Let Me Down, produced by Gilbert.
