Biography
Chester D.T. Baldwin fuses traditional and contemporary gospel through an intensely dynamic approach. Born in Liberty, Texas, the vocalist, songwriter, and record maker underwent baptism at Trinity Valley Baptist Church in his hometown and assumed the role of minister of music there by age 15. Backed by his Music Ministry Mass Choir (aka M3), he issued his debut full-length, Sing It on Sunday Morning!, during 2000. That project climbed to number 11 on Billboard’s gospel chart and earned nominations for Stellar and Soul Train honors. Sing It on Sunday Morning II: Just Having Chu'ch!, captured live in Austin, Texas, followed in 2003. While gaining recognition as a gospel workshop clinician and taking the stage across the United States plus additional continents, Baldwin still cut sporadic sides with Music Ministry Mass Choir, documented on Music That Ministers III: God Is Guilty and Music That Ministers IV: I Shall Live.
