Christian Meier stands among the most prominent figures in Latin pop as a singer, songwriter, performer, and actor whose work has reached audiences worldwide across more than thirty years, evidenced by the millions of streams his recordings continue to attract. Following the pair of albums he recorded with Arena Hash, the Peruvian alt-rock group he once belonged to, along with four previous solo projects, he stepped away from live performance for an extended period before reemerging in 2023 to issue He Vuelto a Casa.

Born in Lima in 1970 to Miss Universe Gladys Zender and politician Antonio Meier, Meier began shaping his musical path when he helped establish Arena Hash in 1984. The alternative rock band achieved its first major breakthrough in 1988 upon releasing its self-titled debut album, whose track “Cuando La Cama Me Da Vueltas” registered as a major success throughout Peru. Arena Hash followed that effort with one additional studio album, 1991’s Ah Ah Ah, before the group disbanded several years afterward. Meier entered acting in 1993 and soon appeared regularly in both soap operas and feature films. He inaugurated his solo recording career in 1996 with No Me Acuerdo Quien Fuí, an album certified double-platinum that included the hit single “Carreteras Mojadas.” He sustained his chart presence through Primero en Mojarme (1999) and Once Noches (2002), projects that showcased his assured fusion of contemporary pop, rock, and classical Latin music; the latter contained the international successes “Alguien” and the duet with Mikel Erentxun, “Novia de Nadie.”

Throughout the subsequent two decades Meier placed music behind his commitments to film and television, though he did release the remix collection Nada Ha Cambiado in 2016. His return proved triumphant with the 2023 arrival of his fifth long-player, He Vuelto a Casa. Recorded and produced in Los Angeles, the album included a duet alongside salsa star Daniela Darcourt as well as contributions from musicians celebrated for their collaborations with Madonna, Ringo Starr, and Elton John. Meier sustained that momentum into 2024 by issuing a duo rendition of the single “Deja Vu,” once again partnering with Spanish rocker Mikel Erentxun.
