Biography
Claudia Valentina has carved out space near the edges of European pop prominence through her polished songwriting and vocal work. Her debut EP, issued under her own name, included the infectious track “4:15,” originally co-authored for a U.S. pop artist before she recorded it herself. Subsequent partnerships have linked her to figures ranging from Tiësto to the German pop-rapper Cro.
Born Claudia Cooney in 2001 on Guernsey, she displayed creative drive early on. An award-winning dancer, she performed in the West End staging of Billy Elliot before relocating to Los Angeles during her teenage years to advance her skills. There she joined songwriting camps alongside experienced writers such as Johan Carlsson and Ross Golan. Those sessions led to a contract with Virgin EMI in England, which issued the Claudia Valentina EP in 2020. Its opening cut “Seven” surpassed ten million streams, while the notable “4:15” formed one of two joint efforts with the songwriting team of David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, who achieved major success that year by crafting BTS’s English-language debut “Dynamite.” (Stewart, Agombar, and Valentina composed “4:15,” with Selena Gomez first slated to record a version.)
She continued issuing singles on the label through 2022, working alongside producers Koz on “Extra Agenda” and Lostboy on “C’est la vie” and “Sweat.” Valentina and Lostboy also co-authored “The Motto” for Tiësto and Ava Max, which reached the U.K. Top 20 and topped the American dance chart, while she contributed vocals to Cro’s 2022 release “High.” Following a short break, she resurfaced independently in 2024 via the singles “D&G” and “Diamonds on My Teeth.”
