Biography
Emerging in 2004 from Buffalo, New York, Dead Hearts quickly drew interest from independent labels as a hardcore act whose lineup features vocalist Derek Dole alongside guitarists Pauly Issue and Jeremy Smith (ex-the Control), bassist Tom Mayer, and drummer Josh Heatley (ex-the Pavers). Within their scene the group stood apart through a melodic, deliberately measured approach to songcraft, which they showcased first on the 2005 EP No Love No Hope, issued by Reflections Records, before delivering their widely praised debut album, 2006’s Ferret Records-backed Bitter Verses.
