Biography
Argentinian rapper Duki emerged from the Buenos Aires freestyling underground by channeling Latin energy into trap rap, reaching wider audiences with his wavy flow and melodic, Auto-Tuned vocals. His late-2010s singles “She Don’t Give a FO” and “LeBron” brought initial attention, while his guest spot on Bad Bunny’s 2018 hit single “Loca” further raised his profile. Alongside solo releases such as the 2019 debut long-player Súper Sangre Joven, Duki performs as one-third of the group #ModoDiablo alongside Neo Pistea and Ysy A. He delivered his sophomore long-player, 24, in June 2020. The next year the single “Chico Estrella” featuring ASAN and Yesan entered the Top 40, and “Wacha” with Khea climbed to the global Top 50 in streaming metrics. Duki’s second album, Desde el Fin del Mundo, led digital charts in his home country and reached the Top 20 in Spain. His Temporada de Reggaeton 2 EP arrived in 2022 and peaked at number three on the digital charts. The artist’s third LP, Antes de Ameri, surfaced in 2023.
Born Mauro Ezequiel Lombardo in 1996, he first gravitated toward hip-hop after witnessing a 2010 freestyle battle between Spanish rappers Arkano and Skone. He sharpened his craft inside the El Quinto Escalón community through repeated freestyling and battling. Duki pivoted toward trap after encountering A$AP Mob’s 2014 single “Hella Hoes,” layering bilingual bars and reggaeton drive onto the style. Early singles “Ready for the Night,” “F4k3s,” and “Resaca” expanded his following ahead of the 2018 mainstream breakthrough “She Don’t Give a FO” with Khea. That same year he dropped a dozen additional tracks, among them “Quavo #ModoDiablo” with his #ModoDiablo trio, and joined the remix of Bad Bunny’s “Loca” that also featured Khea and Cazzu.
During 2019, as Duki moved onto larger stages and international notice, he unveiled “LeBron” and “Makina de Armado” with Neo Pistea and Khea. August brought the solo single “Goteo,” followed in October by “A Punta de Espada” and “Te Traje Flores.” His debut long-player, Súper Sangre Joven, landed in November 2019, reaching number 12 on Spain’s national album charts and earning platinum certification. February 2020 found him alongside Bad Bunny on the track “Hablamos Mañana” from the smash YHLQMDLG.
Even while the world entered COVID-19 quarantine, Duki stayed active, lending his voice to no fewer than eleven guest singles such as “Gelato” with Eladio Carrion and “Café” with Fuego and Luyo. He also put out nine of his own singles, including the charting “Acapella.” June saw the release of his second album, 24, which included contributions from Club Hats, ASAN, Orodembow, Juicy J, and others. The non-album single “Chico Estrella” featuring ASAN and Yesan entered the Top 40, while 2021’s “Wacha” with Khea claimed the top spot in Argentina and landed inside the Top 50 on the Global Rhythm charts.
In 2021 Duki issued his sophomore long-player Desde el Fin del Mundo, which topped Argentina’s digital album charts and reached number 13 in Spain. The Temporada de Reggaeton 2 EP climbed to number three on Spain’s digital charts in 2022. February 2023 brought the single “Si Me Sobrara el Tiempo,” followed in April by “Harakiri” featuring C.R.O.; both landed inside the Top 20. May saw “aPoLLo13,” which peaked inside the Top 40 just before his first North American tour. All three tracks appeared on Duki’s third LP, the concept album Antes de Ameri, which also contained the hit “RoCKSTAR 2.0.”
