Eladio Carrión, a rapper and singer equipped with a reedy baritone and agile freestyle approach, burst onto the Puerto Rican music landscape in 2016 through the video single “Me Enamoré de una Yal.” Distinctive production choices, memorable melodies, and sharp lyricism quickly earned admiration from both peers and fans. In 2020 he issued the 20-track mixtape Sauce Boyz as his debut album; the set featured appearances by Yandel, Cazzu, Lunay, and J Balvin among others and reached the Latin Album Top Ten. After issuing 15 additional singles and videos throughout the remainder of that year, he delivered the all-trap Monarca in January 2021, expanding his list of collaborators to include Corina Smith, Natanael Cano, Ovi, and Noriel. The reggaeton-free project peaked at number 11. Before year’s end he returned with the completely solo Sen2 KBRN, Vol. 1 and the guest-heavy Sauce Boyz 2. November 2022 brought SEN2 KBRN, Vol. 2, yet another fully solo release. Departing from the series, Carrión presented the full-length Sol María at the start of 2024.

Born in Kansas to a military family, Carrión lived in Alaska and Baltimore before turning 11 and then settled permanently in Puerto Rico. As a teenager he became deeply involved in social media, uploading numerous popular comedic videos and writing songs for other artists. Prior to recording under his own name he appeared on “2 × 2” with Flowsito and “No Quiero Más Amigos” with Rawlenz. When “Me Enamoré de una Yal” arrived, fellow reggaetoñeros were the first to champion it on their own platforms, thereby exposing it to wider audiences. He swiftly followed with “Si Tú Te Vas, Mi Cubana,” “Culpable,” and “Ave María.” The tracks’ success led to frequent guest requests over the next two years from Big Soto, Randy, Zion, Darkiel, Myke Towers, Rauw Alejandro, Noriel, and many additional artists.

Within the urbano community Carrión was already viewed as a leading Latin trap stylist. His 2018 video collaboration “Sigue Bailandome” alongside Yann C, Darkiel, and Myke Towers elevated his profile and increased demand for his services. “Mi Error” with Zion reached the Top 20 and amassed over 33 million YouTube views. Other streaming successes from that era included “Candela” with Ecko, the popular party track “Animal” with Myers, and the hit “Kemba Walker” with Bad Bunny. In January 2020 Carrión released Sauce Boyz as a star-studded mixtape containing just one solo cut among its twenty tracks; contributors ranged from J Balvin, Yandel, Arcangel, Smokepurpp, and Lil Mosey to Bad Bunny and others, and the project climbed to number eight on the Top Latin Albums chart. Throughout 2020 he continued issuing fifteen standalone singles, each paired with a video and none drawn from the album except “Mi Error.”

Monarca arrived in January 2021. Whereas Sauce Boyz balanced trap and reggaeton, the sophomore album avoided reggaeton completely. Despite warnings that the decision might limit chart performance, Carrión proceeded; alongside returning partners Balvin, Lunay, Yandel, and Cazzu he introduced Corina Smith on “Todo o Nada” and Natanael Cano, Ovi, and Noriel on “Ele Uve.” Nine of the fourteen tracks were performed solo, and the set reached number 11 on Top Latin Albums.

In subsequent months Carrión appeared on “Quedata Sola” with Jon Z and Myke Towers and on “Nube” with Chucky73. He released the solo single “Sauce Boy Freestyle 4” and was featured in a Bzrp Music Sessions installment that peaked at number ten on the Latin Rhythm albums chart in June. July brought the nine-track, 27-minute trap project SEN2 KBRN, Vol. 1; although multiple producers contributed, it marked his first completely solo album. Led by “Sauce Boy Freestyle, Vol. 4” and “Al Capone,” the release entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number 20. December saw his third project of the year, Sauce Boyz 2, an hour-long collection containing guest spots from Jon Z, Ovi, KAROL G, and additional artists. In November 2022 he resumed solo work on SEN2 KBRN, Vol. 2, which debuted at number four on Top Latin Albums and entered the Top 200. The 2023 LP 3MEN2 KBRN followed, pairing new material with high-profile remixes of SEN2 KBRN, Vol. 2 tracks, among them the Bad Bunny collaboration “Coco Chanel.” Powered by the hit “TQMQA,” Carrión issued his fifth studio album, Sol María, at the beginning of 2024.
